COMPARING TEXTS WITH LECTOR 2007

  • With LECTOR 2007 you can compare texts in order to find citations and similar expressions.
  • You can applicate this function to one author only in order to find expressions which are used more than once.
  • You don't have to put in specific words to search for.
  • All comparison results will be saved and can be reused later.
  • The time LECTOR 2007 needs to compare two texts is dependent on your PC (CPU and hard disk speed). The comparison of large text amounts may take much time (several days).

MENU ITEMS

From concorances: Create new comparison from concordances. You will be asked for the location and file name of the first and second concordance and for the location of the original text files. The standard location of concordances is the "concordance directory" (see setup). You may input twice the same concordance name.
If you compare two texts of different size it is more convenient to start with the larger concordance file because in this case the comparison will take less time.
Open Existing: Open a previously created comparison result.
Parameter: Edit the comparison parameters.
Stop: Stop currently running comparison. All results will remain available.
